Overview

The Bentayga Speed is the most powerful SUV Bentley has ever built. Built to combine the best of Bentley’s performance engineering with the finest sports styling, it features a fearsome 6.0 litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine, capable of producing 626 bhp (635 PS) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. That’s enough to power it from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds (0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds) and on to a top speed of 190 mph (306 km/h)*. Design

There is no mistaking the sporting character of the Bentayga Speed. From the moment you set eyes on it, you will be struck by the dark tint detailing that lends it a darker, more purposeful style. It is equipped with a carbon fibre body kit in the same colour as your chosen exterior finish and dark tint lamps at the front and the rear. With unique 22” wheels and its brake callipers painted bright red, it is a car that begs to be driven.

When you get inside, the theme continues, with Speed emblems on the treadplates, the seats and the veneered fascia. The leather upholstery features diamond quilting and a unique Speed colour split. In the instrument panel, the graphics have been redesigned to evoke a sense of high performance. Sports-style pedals add a racetrack-inspired finishing touch.

Performance

The Bentayga Speed gives you gives you eight driving modes to choose from, including four standard, roadgoing modes. Comfort mode prioritises smoothness of ride, while the enhanced Sport mode adjusts the car’s power, transmission and suspension settings to make the drive unbelievably exhilarating. Bentley mode offers a mid-point between the two, while Custom lets you configure your own settings. For most Speed drivers, however, it is the enhanced Sport mode that will probably see the most use. If you choose the optional titanium sports exhaust, the effect is more thrilling still.

The All-Terrain Specification is fitted as standard, giving you four additional driving modes aimed at low-traction, off-road surfaces such as snow, mud, gravel and wet grass. It also includes added underfloor protection. The Bentley Dynamic Ride electronic anti-roll system helps to keep the cabin level when you are cornering hard. When you’re cruising on the highway, however, it relaxes its grip to absorb any bumps or vibrations that might otherwise compromise ride comfort.

Technology

The Bentayga Speed is completely connected, thanks to a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, plus Apple CarPlay* and Android Auto** (wired and wireless in both cases), so whatever phone you use, you can integrate it with the car’s infotainment system quickly and easily. With two USB-C ports in the centre console of the car and a wireless charging panel for phones that support it, the car is built to work seamlessly with your mobile devices.

While it is equipped with the Bentley Signature Audio system as standard, those looking for the truly unbeatable sound can upgrade to the optional Naim for Bentley system, an incredible piece of audio engineering featuring 20 speakers and a 1,720-watt amplifier. It is regarded by many as the finest in-car audio system in the world.

In the back seats, the Touchscreen Remote (TSR), provides access to some of the most commonly used in-car functions, from heating and ventilation to seat settings and controls for the audio system. The optional Bentley Rear Entertainment system features two 10.1” touchscreens attached to the backs of the front seats. Passengers can stream content directly to them from their smartphones or tablets, listening through the earphones provided, their own headphones or the car’s speakers.

Personalisation

There is an enormous range of options available for the Bentayga Speed. In addition to a choice of exterior colours that reaches around 60 when you consider the extended and Mulliner paint ranges, you can choose from Bentley’s full range of interior hide colours and colour splits. There is a wide choice of handcrafted veneers, from high-gloss woods to open-pore options that use less lacquer for a matt effect. There are also technical finishes, from carbon fibre to the striking Dark Tint Diamond Brushed Aluminium.

Among some of the performance inspired options are a set of 440 mm carbon ceramic disc brakes – among the largest in the production car world.

As well as the driver assistance features that come as standard, you can add the full Touring Specification, which includes features from adaptive cruise control and a head-up display to a night vision camera. Together, they make long journeys effortless, whether you’re travelling on the highway or unlit country lanes.
